(Eliot, ME USA)

August 7th & 8th 2010
Eliot Maine 03903
IQUE is the defending Champion
Here is a little info on it!

The Raitt Homestead Farm Museum will host the "Mainely Grillin' & Chillin' Country BBQ State Competition" www.mainelybbq.com for the second year in conjunction with the 2010 Celebrate MAINE Festival August 7-8 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

The contest will attract competition-level BBQ teams from throughout the region and across the country. It has been sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (www.kcbs.us), and the New England Barbecue Society (www.nebs.org). The Grand Champion will qualify for the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City, Missouri. Last years Grand Champion IQUE went on to win “The Jack” in Tennessee.
The Celebrate MAINE Festival is an authentic family festival that honors the people, places and products that make Maine so attractive to visitors from around the world.
Families can enjoy great food including bean hole baked beans, homemade strawberry shortcake and bbq, live entertainment, artisans, green expo, and marketplace vendors. Children can enjoy the free crafts table, rock climbing wall and wagon rides and for a nominal fee the barrel tractors and bouncy house.

Only $5 per person and children 12 and under get in free. Plenty of on site free parking. The Raitt Homestead Farm Museum (www.raittfarmmuseum.org) is a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to educating future generations about faming history. 100% of the proceeds from the CMF/MGCB go to the restoration and preservation of the beautiful 33-acre farm. Located on Route 103 in Eliot it is only five miles from the Kittery Outlets and I-95.
